MEET KATRINA

Hi, I’m Katrina. I’m a Certified Aromatherapist. I graduated with honors from the American College Of Healthcare Sciences. Let me briefly share my story with you.

I grew up like so many people do, going to the dr. for routine check ups & sick visits being prescribed medicine when I didn’t feel well. At the time I was a kid so I didn’t question anything, I just did what my parents thought was best. At the time it was & still is what’s considered “normal” for most people. No one ever considered there was another way.

Both of my parents had full time jobs & it was sometimes a bit crazy trying to keep up with everything my sister & I had going on. They wouldn’t always have time to prepare a homecooked meal for us every night. Fast food & take out were a dinner staple more than I think they would have liked. None of us realizing at the time how unhealthy it was for us.

Flashforward to my mid twenties, I was prescribed a medication that caused me to have a horrible reaction, I decided from that moment on I wouldn’t rely on medication again. I began educating myself on natural and holistic healing & stopped taking prescription & over the counter medication all together.

A few years later I began having health problems that I couldn’t get answers to. After seeing different drs., having many tests & being told there was nothing wrong with me I was finally diagnosed with PMDD. Along with natural remedies my focus was to be more aware of my daily diet, eating mostly whole foods & limiting processed foods. Not only did this change in my diet help to alleviate the symptoms that I was experiencing, but I began to feel & look the best I ever had.

I was focusing on my health for the first time in my life. The only thing I wasn’t focusing on was my mental health & being happy. I was going through the motions & caring more about other people’s happiness than my own. I knew I had to make some changes. I realized my healing journey was about more than just my physical body, but my mind & soul too. It was then that I began focusing on my mental health & happiness.

I more recently began experiencing some unpleasant symptoms & weight gain, I knew something wasn’t right. I seemed as though my dr. was disregarding my symptoms & tried to convince me nothing was wrong. I was fed up with the typical healthcare system & having to constantly advocate for myself to try & get someone to listen to me. I decided to finally change to a naturopathic dr. It was then that I had a food panel test done & found out I had a food allergy. The food allergy was causing me to have leaky gut, which was the reason for my symptoms. Cutting those foods out of my diet has helped me tremendously.

During all of his I began to notice I was trying to help educate my friends & family on naturopathic & holistic health. I then realized that this was my passion, overall wellbeing that was within our own control. I believe that modern medicine is needed in some instances, especially in emergency situations. But I 100% believe that our overall health, wellness & disease prevention is something that we must work on ourselves daily.

I realized if I had gone through all of this myself there must be so many other people in similar situations who don’t know where to turn or what to do. That’s when I decided to take my passion for health & wellness & use it to help others. You don’t have to take crazy drastic measures to maintain your health, it’s a lot simpler than you think, small changes can make a big difference. Some people just need a boost in the right direction & that’s where I come in.

No one is coming to save us, we are responsible for our own wellness.

Remember… It’s all you, babe.
